Being Healthy Should not be this Hard

My journey started with wanting to get rid of allergies and have healthy skin. I had allergies all my life and moving to a different place made it worse.  My skin, with a mind of its own, went through phases of acne, rashes, dryness, flakiness, and redness. I went to different doctors like allergists and dermatologists. The best we could do was temporary relief. I did take all the medications and used all the lotions recommended.  I came across the book titled “The China Study" by T, Colin Campbell. A great book at the time. I was convinced this was the answer. I shifted my focused to what I was eating. This led me to eliminate meat and dairy from my diet. I went on a vegetarian diet to then a vegan way of eating.  It took awhile to get used to, but eventually I did.

At the time I did not understand this would reduce my protein intake and would have the cascade of many effects that would follow.  I did supplement with B vitamins which is recommended when going to a vegetarian or vegan diet. However, it was not adequate and consistent enough to support my body. These vitamins are not stored in the body and need to be replenished daily.  B vitamins* support energy, cell health, and the brain. Unintentionally, I had shifted to more refined carbohydrates and more processed foods. This was on top of eating a low fat diet that has been recommended and promoted for years. I noticed no improvement and did not realized the many other changes my body was experiencing.  Follow me to find out more on my story.
